Teachers recall Tapendu Ray, an ex-student of Sailendra Sircar Vidyalaya Government Sponsored, sitting with a vacant look during most of his classes. The only time he would display some excitement was when there was discussion on any scientific topic. He built a water heater when in class VII but couldn't pass his Madhyamik Exam. As a result he had to switch to his family business of making dice for gold jewellery. Today Tapendu is the proud owner of a successful Jewellery business.
Surajit Nandi was a regular school-going boy who had an uncle living in Australia. While still in school, Surajit became a member of an international quiz team with his uncle's help. This exposure brought him in touch with the world outside India. Today he exports dry flowers and other decorative items like coloured sand to different countries. His work takes him to different parts of Europe at least thrice a year. He is hugely successful, owns a bungalow and a factory and has a car. At present he is based out of Chennai.
Shubhrajit Dutta, another ex-student of Sailendra Sircar Vidyalaya Government Sponsored is remembered till date as a meritorious student. Teachers recall being shocked when such a bright student who studied Science at the 10+2 level suddenly decided to take up Bangla for Graduation. Not only that, after completing his Masters in Bangla he took up acting as a profession. He went on to perform in many operas and dramas. Today he is a well known TV and Film actor. He has made his school very proud.
Rajib Gayen took a professional risk when he made a distinct shift in his career. After completing his Higher Secondary, he studied Air Craft Maintenance and found himself a job with Deccan Airways, Pune where he worked for some time. Due to personal reasons he moved back to Kolkata and started a coaching institute in North Kolkata to train aspiring candidates for various competitive exams.
Sanjib Gayen completed his Hotel Management course and worked in different hotels of Kolkata over a period of time. While working, he continued studying and completed his Masters in Business Administration. Today he works as a guest faculty in a number of educational institutions. He conducts sessions on 'positive motivation' and enjoys his work immensely.
Soumyaditya is currently a popular News reader on a famous TV channel.
Teachers of Sailendra Sircar Vidyalaya recall Ashoke Sen of 1972 batch, as the quiet second boy of his class. Today he is a famous Physicist.
Another ex-student of the school is a Chef in Spain and has been working there for the last 6 years. He had gone abroad for a 6-month course on Cooking and was selected immediately on completion of his course.
